Jean-Louis Fourgoux has extensive expertise in competition, distribution, and consumer law. As a specialist in economic and European law, Jean-Louis is known for his expertise in advising clients in complex litigation before the European Commission, the Competition Authority and the national commercial courts. He has particular experience in the distribution, media and energy sectors. Jean-Louis Fourgoux is a founding partner of the law firm Fourgoux, which later became Fourgoux-Djavadi & associés. He joined the Fidal network in 2019 as Partner in charge of the competition law department and his work was recognized by Chambers at that time. He holds a postgraduate degree in business and economic law from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and is a member of both the Paris and Brussels Bars. He is a regular contributor for Dalloz, Lexis-Nexis and Concurrences, as well as co-author of the Practical Guide to Competition, author of a digital marketing law manual for Lextenso, 2021, and co-author on restrictive practice with Leyla Djavadi and Erwann Kerguelen for Concurrences, 2022. Together with Jocelyn Goubet, they have contributed to the French chapter of the Chambers Cartel book in 2020 and 2021. Former President of the French “Association française d’étude de la concurrence” (AFEC), Jean-Louis teaches competition law at Sciences Po Paris and at the University of Paris Saclay and La Rochelle.
